On Thursday, 9 April, the National Film Awards Slnko v sieti (Sun in a Net) for the year 2025 were presented at a gala ceremony. While the nominations suggested the dominance of a single film, the final results revealed a very close contest among three of last year’s standout works – The Flood, Father, and Nepela.

The National Film Awards Sun in a Net were presented during an evening ceremony on Thursday, 9 April. The event was streamed live from the Old Market Hall in Bratislava on the official website slnkovsieti.sk as well as on the websites of the awards’ media partners. Thanks to the television channel Kanal 1, the ceremony was also broadcast live on television after a one-year hiatus.

“We are very pleased to have returned to television broadcasting and to have found such broad and strong support among Slovak media outlets that are willing to give culture the space and attention it deserves. We are delighted to see the growing interest in Sun in a Net, which reflects the increasing interest in Slovak cinema itself,” said Katarína Krnáčová, President of the Slovak Film and Television Academy.
